South African DJ, producer, and sound engineer Chymamusique marks a new chapter in his musical journey with the release of Musique Compiled Vol. 1, a 15-track album that places collaboration, discovery, and the next generation of music creators at its core.
Having celebrated his 36th birthday in June 2026, Chymamusique drew direct inspiration from this milestone to select 36 upcoming producers for the broader Musique Compiled initiative. To extend the vision across future volumes, he doubled the initial artist pool, designing the series as an ongoing springboard for underheard talent across the house music landscape.
Sifting Through 1,300 Submissions with Quality Control
The project began as an open invitation for producers to submit their unreleased work. The response was overwhelming, with approximately 1,300 demos submitted to Chymamusique’s studio.
Sifting through every submission with an engineer’s ear, Chymamusique prioritized sonic quality, emotional resonance, and attention to detail over sheer volume.
“Rather than treating the number of submissions as a reason to release an extensive collection all at once, he approached the project with a focus on selecting music that met his creative standards. The philosophy of ‘less is more’ informs the first instalment, allowing the 15 tracks to stand on their own while giving each production room to be heard.”
