Pretoria rap royalty and master lyricist Tyson Sybateli is officially stepping into his next chapter. After cementing his status as one of South Africa’s most respected artists, the rapper and creative visionary has announced that his highly anticipated studio album, Amehlo, drops on 22 September 2026.
Serving as the direct follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2022 project Home, Amehlo expands Tyson’s signature introspective pen into an ambitious conceptual world.
Pre-saves for the album are now live across all major streaming platforms.
Four Years in the Making: A World of Surveillance and Sound
Developed over four years, Amehlo introduces listeners to a fictional corporate universe that holds up a mirror to today’s algorithm-driven, hyper-connected society. The album dives into heavy themes of surveillance culture, digital dependency, and constant observation, while keeping Tyson’s personal journey at its emotional core.
Sonically, listeners can expect a bold crossover of traditional hip-hop fused with alternative and punk rock influences.
“Amehlo became my way of processing the world around me. It’s a reflection of the times we’re living in, but it’s also deeply personal,” Tyson Sybateli shares. “Every song is another piece of that conversation, and I’m looking forward to finally sharing it with listeners. I hope people find pieces of themselves in these stories and leave with a different perspective from when they first pressed play.”
Stacked Collaborations with Mzansi’s Elite
Known for projects like SYBA, Dulcé, Eve, Home, and Present, Tyson’s pen game has always stood out in Mzansi’s hip-hop landscape. For Amehlo, he has brought along a carefully curated squad of collaborators to help bring this dystopian world to life.
The album features powerhouse guest appearances from:
- Marcus Harvey
- Thato Saul
- Filah Lah Lah
- Buzzi Lee
- Tron Pyre

These features complement the album’s varied sonic landscape while keeping Tyson’s honest storytelling right at the center.
You can pre-save Amehlo today ahead of its official release on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
