Glenn Martens Bids Farewell to Diesel with Explosive SS27 Milan Runway Show

Marking the end of an era, Diesel presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection in Milan—serving as the final runway show for Creative Director Glenn Martens.

Conceived as “the party of your life,” Martens turned his finale into an immersive, club-inspired spectacle celebrating inclusivity, self-expression, and pure pleasure, bringing to a close a transformative chapter that re-established Diesel as a global powerhouse of contemporary fashion culture.

An Immersive Club Experience with (LA)HORDE

Set inside a purpose-built club space filled with high-voltage energy, the show featured performative interventions by Marseille-based artist collective (LA)HORDE.

Two hundred performers were embedded directly throughout the audience, engaging guests with spontaneous, sensual, and tension-filled movements that blurred the lines between high fashion and raw performance art. The show culminated in a high-octane climax set to a reworked rendition of Donna Summer’s “Love to Love You Baby.”

“The party always comes first at Diesel. It’s about inclusivity, self-expression, pleasure and the democracy of experience,” said Glenn Martens. “The collection is the essence of Diesel: disruptive, sexy, fluid, fun. We are all in this together: let’s take a ride one more time.”

“Glenn Martens’ contribution to Diesel has been extraordinary,” added Renzo Rosso, Founder of Diesel. “Through his vision, talent and commitment, he has transformed the way the brand is perceived, forging a strong connection with younger generations and creating a solid foundation for its future. He brought Diesel back to the centre of the global fashion conversation.”

SS27 Collection Highlights & Full-Circle Moments

Martens revisited and disrupted core Diesel signatures one last time:

  • Experimental Denim: Coated and lasered denim creating a faux-leather effect, topstitched treatments, bootcut jeans with inner ankle insets, and micro denim manifesto shorts.
  • Trompe L’oeil Treatments: Deceptive prints mimicking heavy tweed coats, winter shearling, and distressed leather jackets on lightweight spring garments.
  • Orchid Motifs & Cutaways: Orchid petal cutouts and delicate orchid embroidery trimming low-slung waistlines, knitwear, and tailoring.
  • Accessories & Lingerie: Debut of Diesel boned lingerie, new leather charms (a sock-turned-pouch and newspaper clutch), the slouchy LOCK-D bag, and D-ONE multi-buckle footwear.
  • Full-Circle Finale: Transgender model and activist Ella Snyder—who opened Martens’ debut Diesel show—closed the runway, bringing a poetic, full-circle conclusion to his tenure.

South African Presence: Daliwonga & Moozlie Front Row

Adding Mzansi flair to the international front row, South African Amapiano star and official Diesel SA ambassador Daliwonga attended alongside popular SA media personality and artist Moozlie.

Both stars turned heads in custom Glenn Martens-designed Diesel ensembles, cementing the brand’s strong ongoing connection with South African youth culture and entertainment.
