Renowned South African fashion designer Gert-Johan Coetzee has marked a defining career milestone with the official opening of his first retail boutique at the Winifred Mandela Precinct (Nicolway Shopping Centre) in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
The new luxury destination translates the iconic Gert-Johan Coetzee visual universe into a permanent physical retail environment, uniting haute couture craftsmanship, sculptural interior design, and modern elegance.
For the first time, the general public can step directly into a brick-and-mortar store to shop the brand off the rack, while also having the option to book private, bespoke styling appointments.

The Bryanston boutique houses an evolving, curated selection of high-end fashion, accessories, and beauty items from the designer’s universe:
- Ready-to-Wear Collections: The latest seasonal releases alongside curated dresses, red-carpet gowns, and elevated casualwear.
- Limited-Edition Collectables: Store-exclusive merchandise and accessories created specifically for the Bryanston location.

Architectural Design & Official Surface Partnership
Designed with a refined marble palette anchored by distinctive aubergine accents, the store treats garments like sculptural art pieces.
To achieve this aesthetic, the brand partnered with Interslab as the Official Surface Partner. All premium stone finishes throughout the interior—from marble display furniture to structural wall installations—were supplied by Interslab to create a dialogue between high fashion and architectural stone.

To celebrate the store’s opening, Gert-Johan Coetzee hosted an interactive fragrance activation outside the boutique. Visitors to the Winifred Mandela Precinct had the opportunity to test and experience each scent from the brand’s new perfume collection firsthand.
