As conversations around self care, longevity and intentional living continue to evolve, NIVEA is placing science and sisterhood at the centre of the beauty conversation.
On 7 March, just ahead of International Women’s Day, the skincare giant hosted an intimate gathering in Johannesburg to introduce its latest innovation, the Cellular Epigenetics Rejuvenating Serum. The event brought together influential women across media, business and the creative industries and was headlined by South African media personality and entrepreneur Zandisile Nhlapo.
Held at the elegant Burkleigh House, the luncheon created space for conversation, reflection and a closer look at the science shaping the next era of anti-ageing skincare.
A Moment to Reset
Rather than a traditional product launch, the experience was designed as a mindful pause in the middle of busy lives.
Under the theme Reset, guests were guided through three experiential moments titled Release, Renew and Restore. The afternoon unfolded through a blend of classical music, curated dining and interactive installations, all set within the tranquil gardens of the venue.
Dressed in soft whites and earthy tones, attendees were encouraged to step away from daily pressures and reconnect with the idea of intentional living. The setting reflected a growing shift in beauty culture where skincare is increasingly linked to overall wellbeing, lifestyle balance and emotional restoration.

Zandi Nhlapo Leads the Conversation
Nhlapo, known for her career in television including her time on SABC1, took centre stage to unpack the science behind the brand’s latest breakthrough.
Drawing from her experience attending the international Cellular Epigenetics launch in Switzerland, she guided guests through the concept of epigenetic skincare and the role it can play in supporting skin renewal over time.
Through storytelling and visual presentations, she emphasised the importance of combining the right skincare routine with a balanced lifestyle to maintain healthy, radiant skin.
The Science Behind Cellular Epigenetics
At the heart of the event was NIVEA’s Cellular Epigenetics Rejuvenating Serum, powered by the active ingredient EPICELLINE®.
The formula is designed to support skin renewal by targeting visible signs of ageing, reflecting the brand’s ongoing investment in research driven skincare. Backed by clinical studies, the innovation forms part of a broader movement in beauty where advanced science meets everyday rituals of care.
According to NIVEA South Africa Marketing Manager Masindi Siaga, the launch represents more than just a new product.
The goal, she explained, is to encourage women to take a more intentional approach to skincare and wellbeing by understanding how lifestyle, environment and routine can influence the skin over time.

A New Conversation Around Time
The collaboration between NIVEA and Nhlapo arrives at a cultural moment where many women are redefining their relationship with time.
Instead of constant productivity, the focus is shifting toward presence, self investment and meaningful connection. In that context, skincare becomes more than cosmetic. It becomes part of a broader ritual of reclaiming confidence and balance.
As the afternoon drew to a close, the message was clear. Honouring your time is not simply an idea. It is a practice built through everyday choices.
