South Africa’s live music calendar is heating up again as SABC and Sun City Resort confirm the return of Ziyakhala Mo Sun City, bringing some of the country’s biggest artists back to the iconic stage.

Set to take place on 27 June 2026 at the Sun City Superbowl, the second edition of the event promises a high-energy celebration of South African music, culture, and heritage following a sold-out debut in 2025.

A Celebration of South African Sound

Ziyakhala Mo Sun City continues to position itself as more than just a concert. The event is built around the idea of celebrating indigenous music and cultural identity, with support from SABC’s African Language radio stations.

By bringing together artists across genres and languages, the show reflects the diversity of South African music while reinforcing the role of radio and live performance in shaping cultural connections.

Full Artist Lineup Announced

The 2026 lineup blends legends, rising stars, and genre-defining voices from across the country.

Fans can expect performances from Mafikizolo, Khuli Chana and amapiano star Young Stunna, alongside lekompo hitmaker Shandesh and maskandi heavyweight Khuzani.

The lineup also features Dr Colbert Mukwevho, Mr Vee Sholo, Encore, Sannere, Ndzundza Neenkhali Zebhosa, DJ Mfundhisi Xikwembu ka Mic, and Phumla Music, creating a diverse programme that spans multiple genres and cultural influences.

Why Ziyakhala Mo Sun City Matters

The event reflects a growing demand for live experiences that centre local music and storytelling.

According to SABC Public Broadcasting radio GM Siphelele Sixaso, African music plays a key role in shaping identity and unity, with platforms like Ziyakhala Mo Sun City helping to amplify that influence through live performance.

At its core, the event is rooted in Ubuntu, bringing people together through shared cultural expression and the universal language of music.

Sun City’s Legacy as a Music Destination

For decades, the Sun City Superbowl has hosted some of the world’s most recognised performers, while also serving as a stage for South African talent.

The return of Ziyakhala Mo Sun City builds on that legacy, reinforcing the venue’s role as one of the country’s premier live entertainment destinations.
