Hey Neighbour is back and louder than ever. South Africa’s most ambitious music festival is returning for Season 2 this August — and it’s already starting to feel like a global block party. Following the buzzworthy announcement that Doja Cat will headline, the fest has just confirmed another big name: US R&B maestro Leon Thomas.
The former Victorious star (yes, André Harris himself) has come a long way since his Nickelodeon days. These days, Thomas is shaping the sound of modern R&B — producing Grammy-winning projects, collaborating with the likes of Babyface, and carving out his own soulful lane with albums like Electric Dusk and MUTT.
Set to hit the Hey Neighbour stage at Legends Adventure Farm in Pretoria, Thomas adds some serious soul to an already-hyped weekend. While Doja Cat is expected to bring the spectacle, Leon’s set promises smooth vocals, rich live instrumentation, and a nod to the genre’s roots — all wrapped in his signature cool.
This year, the festival has compressed last year’s three-day format into two high-energy days (30–31 August), focusing on quality over quantity. Expect a genre-blending lineup, immersive experiences, and a sense of community that made the 2023 edition feel like more than just another festival.
Of course, this isn’t the full line-up — more local and international names are on the way, with a full reveal expected in June. But even now, it’s clear: Hey Neighbour 2025 is aiming for impact.
